Growing up in a house with white walls, wood paneling and brown carpet I had never been introduced into the wonderful world of design. Even so I was always rearranging my furniture and trying to make my room as cozy as possible. I covered my walls with things that represented who I was, and against my father’s objections, even my ceiling. I never considered this as interior design, I simply wanted my space to be my own. It wasn’t until my family and I were evicted from our home due to toxic mold that my eyes were opened to the wonderful world of design. Moving back into our house was like being given a blank canvas. My mother and I did not take this opportunity for granted. This was when I realized my talent for design. It came so naturally, it wasn’t taught, it was intuitive, hence the name Design by Intuition.
I began designing rooms for friends and family, and what started out as a passionate hobby, developed into an exciting career. I enrolled in “The Interior Design Institute” and earned a diploma in Interior Design. Design is an art, and as an artist I am always looking for new creative challenges that will push me even further out of the box. Like a thumbprint, no two rooms I design are ever alike. Design is not only about aesthetic but about problem solving. As your designer I would work with you to find out what problems you have in your space and find ways to solve them.
